GOOKIN: The leader Coeur d’Alene needs
I’m proud to support Dan Gookin for mayor of Coeur d’Alene. I’ve known Dan for about 15 years, and here’s what I’ve learned in that time:
Dan does his homework. He’s thoughtful, diligent and always looks for solutions before taking a stand. He listens to the people he serves and actually gives them a voice.
He played a crucial role in saving North Idaho College, standing up to the bullies and shining a light on what was really happening. His videos became a lifeline for the community, keeping folks informed when transparency was in short supply.
But what really sets Dan apart is his integrity. He’s not a rubber stamp for anyone. He’ll do what’s right for the city, not what’s convenient or politically safe.
Coeur d’Alene needs a watchdog, not a lapdog — and certainly not another KCRCC puppet. We need Dan Gookin as our next mayor.
If you live in Coeur d’Alene, please vote. Election Day is Nov. 4. Bad leaders win when good people stay home — so don’t sit this one out. Make your voice count at the ballot box!
