Train-pedestrian fatality under investigation

PRIEST RIVER — Idaho State Police is investigating a Saturday train-versus-pedestrian fatality near Priest River.

The incident took place at about 9:03 p.m. at the Parr Road crossing near Hidden Lane. According to ISP, a woman was struck by a northbound freight train and was pronounced dead on the scene. Confirmation of identity is still pending investigation.

All rail traffic on the line was halted for approximately four hours. The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office and the Priest River Police Department were on scene assisting.
