RASMUSSEN: Will put learning first

| October 26, 2025 1:00 AM

I’m proud to support Rick Rasmussen for Zone 1 in the Coeur d’Alene School District 271 Board of Trustees race.

Rick is a lifelong Coeur d’Alene resident and force multiplier who cares deeply about this community and its future. A former Coeur d’Alene High School valedictorian and student body president, he went on to earn his business degree with honors from the University of Montana. Professionally, Rick has led Northwest Specialty Hospital since 2014, where his commitment to quality, compassion and fiscal responsibility has earned national recognition, including CEO of the Year in 2023.

Beyond his impressive career, Rick devotes countless hours to serving others. In addition to watching many a sporting event at local middle and high schools, he serves on boards for organizations such as the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club and Make-A-Wish Foundation, to name a few. He served with distinction for many years as the CHS Viking Booster Club president. He has been honored as Coeur d’Alene Citizen of the Year, Hayden Citizen of the Year, and the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year.

Rick understands leadership, accountability and the importance of teamwork — values that will serve our students and schools well. He will listen, collaborate and make thoughtful decisions that put kids and learning first.

I encourage voters in Zone 1 to join me in supporting Rick Rasmussen for the Coeur d’Alene School Board.
