GOOKIN: Best choice for Cd’A mayor

I have worked with Dan Gookin on a number of community issues over the years. One major project was to help free North Idaho College from the troubles that befell the college when Kootenai County Republican Central Committee-endorsed candidates gained control of the trustee board.

Dan brought a heart for true public service and a strongly principled nature to his role as a Coeur d’Alene City Councilman where he has serviced for 14 years. Dan provides Cd’A citizens respect, competence and experience worthy of your vote.

Dan is solution-driven. I’m aware of a number of occasions where a constituent reached out to Dan seeking assistance. Dan stepped up immediately to help them, while prioritizing community safety and focused on an appropriate resolution to his constituent’s concern.

Dan is a fiscal conservative, always looking out for the taxpayers’ best interest.

Of the four mayoral candidates, Dan is the best prepared to lead effectively and efficiently. He is a critical thinker who is well-suited to handle the challenges encompassed in managing the city’s budget and in managing the affairs of mayor. He is not committed to any political party faction; knowing the duties of mayor are of a nonpartisan nature.

Cd’A needs a mayor who is wise, decisive, and one who will respond to the concerns of the residents of Cd’A in a timely manner, and who will act to protect their quality of life. Dan is that person.
