KCSO investigates fatal crash at Fernan Saddle

A man died in a head-on crash between a motorcycle and a truck Thursday afternoon, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. 

The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. near the Fernan Saddle area within the Coeur d’Alene National Forest, police said. 

First responders found the male motorcyclist trapped beneath the truck, according to the sheriff’s office. The man, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
