Halloween, harvest events this season

Halloween and harvest events are coming up.

Oct. 18

• Apple Palooza | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., downtown Coeur d'Alene. Stroll through participating businesses and enjoy seasonal delights such as caramel apple cheesecake gelato, apple pie tartlets and more. Limited day-of tickets will be available to purchase at the Downtown Association booth at the Fifth Street Farmers Harvest Market.

• Harvest Festival | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Museum of North Idaho, 720 E. Young Ave., Coeur d'Alene. Hayrides, pumpkin painting, food vendors, live music, history demonstrations and programs. Family friendly. Free. Some activities are available for purchase. 

Oct. 18-30 

• Punkin’ Stroll | Guests are invited to visit downtown businesses to judge decorated pumpkins and vote for the best. This family-friendly event is free. Winners will each receive a decorated faux pumpkin and a $25 gift certificate to one of the downtown stores. Ballot maps will be available at the Downtown Association booth at Fifth and Sherman Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 during Apple Palooza. Afterward, ballots will be available at participating businesses. Info: cdadowntown.com/punkin-stroll

Oct. 25

• Community Trunk or Treat | 3-5 p.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 477 E. Honeysuckle Ave., Hayden. Come with decorated car trunks for trick or treaters or bring the family to go trick or treating and enjoy homemade chili. Hosted by the English Point, Hayden and Honeysuckle Congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everyone welcome.

• Community Harvest Party | 6 p.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1670 N. McGuire Road, Post Falls. Chili cook, trunk-or-treat and carnival games. Free.

Halloween, Oct. 31

• Trick or treat open house | 2:30-5:30 p.m., Parker Technical Education Center, 7064 W. Lancaster Road, Rathdrum. North Idaho College will host this fourth-annual, all-ages indoor event. Participants can stop at each lab and collect candy and prizes while learning about the many career and technical education programs offered at NIC. Last year’s event attracted more than 500 participants. Games, contests, giveaways, a retro arcade trailer, DJ. Guided tours of the center and a full-size trebuchet outside to launch pumpkins with the NIC Engineering Club. Free.

• Trunk or treat | 6 p.m., Potter's House Christian Church, 213 W. Appleway Ave., Ste 7, Coeur d'Alene. All ages welcome. Snacks, games. Free.
