KCSO identifies body found in Hayden Lake

A body found in Hayden Lake by a fisherman Sunday has been identified, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Lt. Mark Ellis said the deceased person was confirmed as Jath T. Brown, 66, of Spokane Valley. Brown owned a cabin on Hayden Lake where his body was found in the water.

The death appears to be caused by a preexisting medical condition, Ellis said.

A fisherman reported discovering a body floating near Henry Point about 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a KCSO press release. Deputies deployed a drone to locate the individual and then utilized a marine vessel to confirm the death and recover the body, the release said.
