TRUMP: Supporters are misguided
Long before the last election, I submitted letters suggesting that Donald Trump seemed to have illusions of becoming a dictator. Based on the last nine or 10 months, Mr. Trump has made it clear that he, in fact, has that in mind.
I won’t cite the numerous actions he has taken and the many statements he has made that support my contention. It is obvious to anyone who pays attention.
For that reason, I have been wondering why the supporters that elected him seem to continue to support him given his aspirations, his continuous lies and his non-Christian and outright anti-American behavior.
Among the reasons I have thought of is that maybe there are many of them who have not truly appreciated the good that has been produced because of history of this country. That history, as topsy-turvy as it’s been, produced the first successful democracy in world history at the same time it served as an example to an endless number other countries with the desire to do the same. A dictatorship would end that. Who wants that?
