'Make More Happen Award' for Canopy Village
Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its dedicated partnership with Canopy Village, a nonprofit trauma-responsive safe haven that restores trust and hope for children and families facing abuse, neglect or crisis.
This recognition includes a $5,000 donation to Canopy Village, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online support from the community.
The Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency and Canopy Village story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/coeur-dalene-insurance. Supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the story receives at least 500 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be increased to $10,000, a press release said.
“We understand the challenge of rebuilding after a crisis and how much it helps to have hands-on support,” said Aaron Reed, agency principal of Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency. “By showing up to get their play space back up and running, or providing essentials throughout the year, we aspire to be a dependable partner for Canopy Village, the young people they serve, and our greater community.”
When Canopy Village suffered a basement flood due to frozen pipes in 2024, Coeur d'Alene Insurance stepped in to help clean, organize and restore the children’s play and arts space — rebuilding shelves and sorting toys.
With a $10,000 Make More Happen Award, Canopy Village can expand its impact by offering new and improved summer programming to engage at-risk youth, the release said.
"The award would improve entrance accessibility to its 30 vegetable gardens and greenhouse, where youth can take part in a community garden club," the release said. "Additionally, funds would support a summer camp mentoring program, providing emotional regulation groups, communication skills, and healthy relationship lessons through their Family Support Center."
Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Amy Faucheux, senior territory manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency’s commitment to Canopy Village is a powerful example of how local businesses can help drive meaningful change.”
