TREES: Freeway cuts spark sadness

I left town for 10 days, and when I returned, I was overcome with shock and sadness when I saw that the grand Ponderosas in the median and alongside I-90 were destroyed and laid in heaps among their stumps. Until last week, driving into town was stunning, speaking volumes about the beauty that the city embraced.
If vehicles crashing into trees was a concern, guardrails could have been put into place. If winds were so intense that they blew over those beloved trees, people would have been off the roads anyway. Fear led to a path of devastation far greater than any tree ever could have.
Sick at heart,
