GENERATIONS: Time to pass the torch

| November 30, 2025 1:00 AM

As I watch my Millennial children shut off the politics swirling around them and try to live positive lives, it is seriously time to pass the baton. Baby Boomers and even older generations have dominated leadership roles, ownerships, politics and society long enough.

We see that legacy hand off evolving in our local businesses and boards that make lives better in our region. They are positive and unselfish in their giving of time, resources and thoughtful insights.

Men in Idaho government leadership have surpassed their “Use by Date.” Crapo. Risch, Simpson and Fulcher have long needed to pass the torch. The same with local reps — too long in the tooth and out of touch with the under-50 citizens and inheritors of their mess.

Brent Regan of KCRRC needs to move on. To continue to spew negativity on a weekly basis is NOT what the next generations need or want to hear.

Yet another Regan diatribe of divisiveness on the day after Thanksgiving and wonder why this man is so angry? Why does the Press think they need to profile this non-contributor, non-mentor, vindictive individual? His messaging feeds few and enrages many.

I give thanks to all the positive folks that carry, keep and hold faith in our beautiful area of givers and shapers. May we show by our actions the need to come together and not tear apart North Idaho.
