Idaho Disaster Dog Skye and her handler, Coeur d'Alene Firefighter-Paramedic Cody Moore, recently passed their FEMA Canine Certification.
"Cody and Skye have been working very hard," a press release said. "Skye joined Cody in March, so obtaining this certification in such a short time is quite an accomplishment."
Moore has been a K-9 handler for the last 10 years as part of Washington Task Force 1, with several deployments under his belt.
Skye is Cody’s second dog, taking the reins from retired K-9 Murphy. Moore and Murphy were a search-and-rescue team for the past decade.
