Coeur d'Alene seeks council candidates
Coeur d'Alene is accepting applications for Seat 3 on the City Council.
Dan Gookin has held that seat more than a decade but come Jan. 6 will move into the mayor's office after being elected in the General Election in November.
The person appointed will serve the remainder of the council term until Jan. 4, 2028.
Qualifications include being at least 18 years of age; primary residence within the city of Coeur d’Alene; registered to vote; and resident of the city for at least 30 days prior to submitting their application. Experience serving on commissions, community involvement and volunteering are also considered in the selection process.
Council meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month, with a few sub-committee meetings between.
City Council members receive $15,000 a year plus benefits.
