Wally Jacobson, executive director of the Panhandle Area Council, has been appointed the interim director of the Coeur d'Alene Area Economic Development Corporation (CDAEDC).

“We are thrilled to welcome Wally Jacobson as our interim director,” said Brad Marshall of J-U-B Engineers, volunteer board chair for the CDAEDC. “Wally’s leadership, proven track record and deep understanding of our community make him the ideal candidate to guide CDAEDC during this transition. We are confident that with Wally at the helm, our organization will remain strong and focused on our strategic goals.”

According to a Monday press release, Jacobson steps in for Gynii Gilliam, who retired last month after 10 years as the CDAEDC executive director. He will be working in a part-time capacity in this interim role.

Jacobson brings decades of experience in regional economic development, community engagement and organizational leadership, the release said.

“I am honored to serve as interim director for CDAEDC. My priority is to work closely with our board, staff and partners to ensure a smooth transition while helping to identify the right leader for the future of the organization,” Jacobson said. “I look forward to supporting the CDAEDC team and advancing our mission for the benefit of the Coeur d’Alene area.”

The CDAEDC board of directors will initiate a search for the next executive director in the coming weeks.

The CDAEDC will contract with PAC to provide transition services, including Jacobson’s time and management expertise and will utilize PAC’s staff experience to ensure a smooth transition.

“Jacobson’s expertise and commitment promise continued momentum for the organization and the communities it serves,” the release said.
