IDAHO: Three cheers for schools

| November 23, 2025 1:00 AM

My husband is a veteran, and we have four grandchildren in the school system. We were invited by them to two different Veterans Day programs. One is in elementary school. The program was top notch and included a Color Guard military presentation of the flag, which included the Pledge of Allegiance.

Every child in the school was in the audience and you could hear a pin drop. Most of the program was presented by the students, which included the patriotic songs and accolades to military members of the students’ families.

The second program was at a middle school, where our grandson plays in the band. They played a multitude of patriotic songs, which included a tribute to each branch of the service. Again, the entire student body was in attendance along with veterans and guests.

We also said the Pledge of Allegiance and were able to show respect to our country. My husband and I felt very honored by the slide show and presentation by the students.

Thank you, Idaho schools, for honoring our country and its citizens. Keep up the good work!
