Post Falls residents warned against phishing scams

| November 22, 2025 1:00 AM

Post Falls officials issued a news release Friday alerting residents and local businesses to phishing attempts involving fraudulent fee payment requests. Bob Seale, community development director, said the city will not request payment by wire transfer and collects fees only in person or through approved city platforms.

Official Post Falls email addresses always end in @postfalls.gov or @opengov.com. Any message sent from a different domain should be considered suspicious.

If you receive an email requesting payment for an application fee, do not reply, click any links or open attachments.

Residents are encouraged to always verify the legitimacy of any communication by calling the community development department at 208-773-8708.

Anyone who believes they have received phishing emails is asked to immediately contact Tisha Gallop and forward the email to her for review at [email protected].
