High schools recognized for outstanding student councils
The Idaho Student Council State Conference took place Nov. 3-4 at the University of Idaho, bringing together student leaders from across the state to share ideas, celebrate achievements and learn from one another.
The event featured 29 breakout sessions focused on leadership and school engagement. Lake City High School led six of these sessions, while Coeur d’Alene High School led four.
Students presented on their successes and the many ways their councils build community through activities such as school spirit events, fundraising, improving school climate, starting clubs, effectively using social media and organizing assemblies.
Both Coeur d’Alene and Lake City high schools were recognized for their Outstanding Student Councils for the 2025–26 school year. In addition, Lake City received the coveted Learn, Lead and Lift Award, which honors a school that exemplifies exceptional spirit, leadership and service as a model student council.
