The Community Library Network has donated the Discovery Bus to the University of Idaho, according to a news release published Tuesday.

CLN purchased the 60-foot transit bus in 2019 using grant funds. Before the library network purchased it, STEM Revolution had retrofitted the bus and used it as a mobile learning center and hands-on science lab at community events.

Between 2020 and 2023, CLN used the bus primarily for science, technology, engineering, art and math education, serving more than 22,000 community members.

“In 2024, it was time to retire the aging bus and it was taken out of service,” a news release said.

CLN has donated the Discovery Bus to the University of Idaho Extension — North Idaho STEM Program. The bus will host hands-on 4-H STEM classes on the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.
