COMPROMISE: Can’t always have it

Addressing Marvin Shay’s point by point letter about compromise published Nov. 16.

Abortion: “Up to the woman and medical advisor ...” Who’s representing the interest of the unborn baby? You say you abhor abortion but yet you will let it continue unchecked.

Open Borders: “... we will not achieve ... reform at the point of a gun”. Suggest you could have stated “reform by enforcing the law.” Which sometimes require guns and fences.

Mutilation of young people to change gender: “... what’s best for the family.” Sometimes what’s best for the family isn’t what’s best for the child. Lots of data evolving on how such transition procedures are detrimental long term. Isn’t a nice compromise to leave it up to the child to wait until the he/she is an adult?

Illegal immigrants receiving free medical care. Surprising to me that statement is true at the federal level but not necessarily at the state level. States are funded by taxes too.

Boys in girls sports: “Let’s find a compromise solution so that all human beings are included.” What’s the compromise? The one that comes to mind is a separate competition category for trans, which is always shot down by the trans community.

No ID to vote: “I will stand for everyone’s legitimate right to vote.” I hope you’re not disgusted having to present a legal ID to vote in Idaho. Why not everywhere?
