The Coeur d'Alene High School Jazz Band, directed by Jim Phillips, will present its annual free concert at 7 tonight at the Fahringer Auditorium, 5530 N. Fourth St.

The evening will feature jazz works, student soloists and guest performances by trombonist Jenny Kellogg from the University of Idaho and the Palouse Jazz Project, the faculty jazz ensemble from the Lionel Hampton School of Music.

The CHS Jazz Band will perform Duke Ellington’s "Feet Bone," Mark Taylor’s "Bone Busters" and Benny Golson’s "The Cool One." Featured student performers include Abrie Sterbank, Kaiya Killingsworth, Grace Stevens, Hayden Bolton and Noah Wigdahl.

The evening will also include the world premiere of "The Royal Dinosaur Party," composed by University of Idaho student Holden Barber and inspired by a story written by young authors through the Sing Me a Story Foundation. This collaboration will feature the Coeur d’Alene High School Jazz Choir.
