REGAN: The eternal victim
Once again, Kootenai County's own master and ultimate authority on hypocrisy, Brent Regan, pretends to be a victim by doing precisely what he complains literally everyone else is doing "to" him and his party. I should clarify here that by "master and ultimate authority on hypocrisy" I mean he is really good at it in practice; not so much in theory.
Here's my favorite bit: He accuses the organization of local Republicans who disagree with him (the North Idaho Republicans) of injecting dark money into a recent local election. He says, "It’s 'dark' money because precinct committeemen are not “elected officials,” they are party officers so spending on precinct committeeman races is not reported under sunshine laws. Nobody knows how much was spent or where the money came from." I know he hasn't forgotten that his own KCRCC also invested money to promote their own candidates. Was that money somehow different? And, yes, they are always elected. But why let facts get in the way of a good manufactured outrage?
Calling it dark money is such childish, disingenuous, misleading propaganda — absolutely typical of Regan, the KCRCC, and MAGA which he venerates. And the rest of his screed is packed full of similar slander and worse. But he's the victim. Sure, Brent. Nothing hypocritical about that at all.
