COMPROMISE: To Marvin George Miller

Compromise has been the cornerstone of this nation's political process for its entire history. Sometimes it happens in fits and starts, but ultimately, a collaborative solution has always brought success to the process of governance. Yes, conservatives and progressives think differently. Over time, our collective heritage has benefited immensely because of the prospect is always present. 

I want to address your points: 

Abortion: Most people abhor the use of abortion. I do, yet I recognize it is not my decision to make. Only a woman and her medical provider have the right to make that decision. 

Open borders: We both agree our immigration system requires an overhaul. I believe compromise is possible to resolve the current situation. We will not achieve immigration reform at the point of a gun. 

Mutilation of young people to change gender: We cannot know what is best for a family. Leave this to medical care providers with the required expertise and understanding. 

Illegal immigrants receiving free medical care or other benefits hard-working Americans must pay for: They do not. What immigrants do is pay taxes. When at the ER, the law and the Hippocratic Oath require their treatment. 

Boys in girls' sports (and conversely, girls in boys' sports): Let's find a compromise solution so that all human beings are included. 

No ID to vote: There are too many political agendas out there right now to prevent legitimate people from voting. I will stand for everyone's legitimate right to vote. 

I recognize all the conflicts you present as potential compromises to be found. What I will not do is point a finger and say these are non-negotiable. When you are ready to do the work — and compromise will take earnest work — I am available.
