JONES: Wrong about immigration

Jim Jones’ recent opinion regarding the federal and state law enforcement activity in Wilder, Idaho, is another example of how progressives will not use the adjective “illegal” with the noun “immigrant.” Furthermore, Mr. Jones overlooks the fact that these illegal immigrants were engaging in illegal activity. 

Plus, he mentions that the former governor Phil Batt assisted Idaho employers of illegal immigrants by helping to cover the illegal workers with workers’ compensation. This illustrates the other side of the illegal immigration crisis which is how American employers have disregarded federal immigration laws so that they may exploit illegal immigrant labor. Employers of illegal immigrants have been allowed to break federal immigration law with little if any consequences. 

Therefore, one can see how illegal immigration has been a destabilizing influence on American society in no small part because politicians and employers have ignored our nation’s immigration laws. 

It appears that the progressive left and those who utilize illegal immigrants will never defend the sovereignty of the United States.
