KCSO nabs two in counterfeiting operation in Bayview
Two local people were arrested Sunday after allegedly using counterfeit money.
Kendra M. Bradley, 39, Bayview, was charged with possession of fictitious bills, criminal conspiracy, petit theft and possession of stolen property, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office.
Ronnie J. Ament, 52, Athol, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, criminal conspiracy, petit theft, possession of stolen property and possession of paraphernalia.
The arrests followed a fraud report in Hayden, a KCSO press release said.
Deputies learned that the victim had sold a washer and dryer listed for sale on Facebook to two individuals who paid with counterfeit $100 bills. Deputies identified the suspects and responded to their residence in Bayview.
The suspects eventually exited the residence and were detained, the release said. Deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant by a Kootenai County judge.
"During the search of the residence, deputies located the stolen washer and dryer, a large amount of counterfeit U.S. currency, materials used to produce fraudulent bills, methamphetamine and an illegally possessed firearm," the release said.
An investigation continues.
