Massage parlor hearing tonight in Dalton Gardens

The Dalton Gardens Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing tonight regarding a special use permit for a proposed massage parlor.

According to the city’s monthly planning and code compliance report, applicant Lake City Massage “would appear (to be) an adult entertainment service and/or entertainment” as defined by city code.

City code Section 5-13-14 defines adult entertainment in part as “activities that primarily involve the display, exhibition, or viewing of people and/or materials relating to human sex acts or by emphasis on male or female genitals, buttocks or female breasts" and specifically "including massage parlors and boathouses.”

City staff has been working with the daughter of the business owner in order to assist with the special use permit process, the report said.

The hearing is scheduled to go before the commission at 6 p.m. at Dalton Gardens City Hall.
