FIRE DISTRICT: Taxpayer wants truth

We have resided most of our lives up in Idaho and the Garwood Fire District. The Fire District is now asking for a permanent levy and that is something we just cannot support. Although we often do support the fire departments, we also feel there is an ongoing Garwood Fire Station on Pope Road cover up or the withholding of all its background surrounding the old unfinished, unmanned fire station needing to now end. This never finished station was promised to us back in 2023 if we just passed that levy back then.

The Fire District even asked for and received grants for firefighters to man the never finished station. The Fire District took the grants and our tax monies and then had a (secret) falling out with the fire station contractors’ extreme modular buildings in Canada. These same Canadian modular station building contractors have had many very happy Fire Districts work with them throughout America.

We are not pointing fingers at either our local fire departments or the extreme modular buildings in Canada contractors as we like everyone else have been intentionally kept in the dark for years now. The local fire department hides behind the old line “ongoing litigation” and for a couple months that is fine, but it has been years now. 

Even The Press failed to investigate this.

Please be fully open and transparent and let us as adults make the decision about what went south and who is responsible. No more fire department Levies until we the taxpayers after years of cover up get the truth with proof. No lip service just the facts.
