'Art Uplifts' in memory of late artist Jimmy Magnuson opens June 6
POST FALLS — An exhibit that celebrates the transformative power of art while honoring a beloved local artist and musician gone too soon will mark its fourth year when it opens at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls.
"Art Uplifts" was created in memory of Jimmy Magnuson, a prolific creator and friend to many who passed May 17, 2021, at age 36. The show is a celebration of the healing power of art and the resilience of people in the community. The works on display represent journeys of hope, healing and courage. The philosophy of the show is, "Art has the power to uplift us and help us navigate life's challenges: recovery, grief, loss, diagnosis and more. No matter the struggle, situation or journey, art can uplift us all."
