Thousands to run in Coeur d'Alene on Sunday
About 2,700 runners will be off and running Sunday in Coeur d'Alene.
The Coeur d’Alene Marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K all start and finish at McEuen Park.
Participants are coming from 47 states and countries including Ireland, Costa Rica and the United Kingdom.
The event is the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation's largest fundraiser.
Festivities start Saturday with a kids 1-mile fun run, live music from Cris Lucas and shakeout run in partnership with Fleet Feet. Runners can check in from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The marathon starts at 6:30 a.m., the half goes at 7, the 10K at 8 and the 5K at 9. The courses wind through neighborhoods and on the North Idaho Centennial Trail.
New this year is the HopDash Brewfest from noon to 5 p.m. at 415 E. Sherman Ave. on Sunday. Music, unlimited draft beer, cider and wine from local and regional brewers will be available for $35 at what is being billed as the "official after-party for the CDA Marathon."
Weather looks ideal for runners, with sunny skies and morning lows in the 40s and 50s.
Locals can expect road delays and congestion in the morning through downtown. Specific road closures and delays can be found at cdamarathon.com.
