FOOD DRIVE: Gratitude for the Post Office

| May 23, 2025 1:00 AM

Each year on the second Saturday in May, postal carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America collect the generosity and compassion of their customers through the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Led by letter carriers represented by the National Association of Letter Carriers, and supported by rural carriers, postal employees, and volunteers, this effort has delivered more than 1.82 billion pounds of food over the past 30 years.

This year, the Coeur d’Alene Postal Service Letter Carriers collected over 6,000 pounds of food, directly benefiting families in Kootenai County.

On behalf of Community Action Partnership, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Coeur d’Alene postal team, to every community member who generously donated, and to the incredible volunteers who sorted and distributed the food. Your collective effort is a vital part of our mission to fight food insecurity and support our neighbors in need.

Alongside other food drives, private donations, and the ongoing support of local businesses, your contributions help feed thousands. Together, we are building a stronger, more caring community.

Thank you for standing with us in the fight against hunger.
