OUTDOORS: Camping reservations available across Idaho

BOISE — With summer fast approaching, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is reminding residents and visitors that campsites are still available at state parks across the state — including for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
As demand for Idaho’s outdoor spaces continues to surge, IDPR encourages campers to act quickly to secure their spot. Weekday stays often offer greater availability and lower rates. Reservations can be made online at parksandrecreation.idaho.gov.
IDPR also announced it has opened some new campgrounds, including one in Thousand Springs State Park. The Billingsley Creek Campground features 50 full-service RV sites and provides direct access to some of the park’s most scenic attractions. Campers can explore Box Canyon’s clear waters, kayak to Blue Heart Springs, take in the 60-foot waterfall at Malad Gorge and visit the historic Ritter Island.
“Billingsley Creek Campground is another step forward in our commitment to providing exceptional outdoor experiences for all visitors,” said IDPR Director Susan Buxton. “With our easy reservation system and a wide variety of amenities, we make it simple for families, couples, and solo travelers to explore Idaho’s incredible natural landscapes.”
