ENDORSEMENT: Vote yes on Lakeland levy

Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community, and that is why I urge you to vote YES on May 20 for the Lakeland Levy. This levy is not just about numbers, it is about ensuring our schools, students and families have the resources that they need to succeed.

The Lakeland Levy provides essential funding that is needed for small classrooms, teacher salaries, safety personnel and student programs that foster success. Without it, we risk losing the very elements that make our schools effective and welcoming environments for learning.

Importantly, the school board has already worked to reduce the original amount of the levy, making it even more manageable for taxpayers. Thanks to Idaho’s property tax relief measure, the actual cost to homeowners will be even lower than the proposed amount. This means we can support our students without placing undue financial strain on families.  

Beyond education, the Lakeland Levy impacts the entire community. Well-funded schools attract families, improve property values, and prepare students to become engaged citizens who contribute to our local workforce. When we invest in education, we invest in the growth and prosperity of North Idaho and beyond.

Voting YES is a vote for our children, our educators and our future. Join me in ensuring that our students continue to have the resources that they need to learn, thrive and lead.
