ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Lippert

| May 16, 2025 1:00 AM

Neuroscience shows that FEAR and ANGER can sell a person just about any product or belief. Trigger words like drag, trans, or “grooming” can cause otherwise calm people to vote against their own parental rights.

My parents taught me to beware any ranting pastor or party boss. They use emotional propaganda to advance their own agenda, usually for control, power or ego.

History is full of silly over-reaction to perceived threats: Religious people have painted underwear on nude art pieces to “protect the masses from sin.” Well-meaning but impractical politicians made the production of alcohol illegal.

We adults can and should decide what literature is appropriate for our own children. Politicians should not be stacking “questionable” books in off-limits rooms. Libraries already have excellent, appropriate systems of access in place. Don’t let others trigger your emotions of fear and anger. Use your own common sense: Vote Michelle Lippert for Community Library Network Board.
