SPEED LIMIT: Raise it instead
I do sympathize that road noise is increasing. You know what causes that? The cure is not dropping speed from 35 to 25 mph. What causes noise? Tires on the road surface, speed is part, biggest factor is number of vehicles in motion. If there was an easy solution, it’s impossible to allow its use in today’s world. Ha ha ha.
So, it would take a book to explain in detail all those variables but my own short version … stop allowing below-average repairs on roadways when they are opened for utilities, keep foreign junk tires with lowest quality rubber, stolen tread designs and zero quality control to be on too many vehicles, stop building apartments and allowing the nonprofit leach orgs to promote and propagate subsidized housing to over populate this area to the point of insanity. Those are roots to the problem.
Slowing the speed should never be an option as some of us have actual places to go and are able to navigate traffic circles. Can’t add more time on the miserably slow commute anywhere as is. Four to five service calls a day used to be an hour in travel. Now 2.5-3 hours of no pay, just losing patience and money so city councils and commissioners can play big shots in social circles doubling the population. Less cars, less noise, less stress, more production, more time to enjoy the area we call home. I vote raise 35 to 55 mph.
