| May 14, 2025 1:00 AM

A Washington man will spend time in prison following a conviction of grand theft, domestic battery and intimidating a witness.

Roger Mark Mangum, 44, will serve a unified 10-year prison sentence with parole eligibility after four years for his crimes, a Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney's Office press release said.

The charges stem from several incidents in 2024 and 2025. In May 2024, Mangum stole two high-dollar golf clubs he was trying out from a local golf course.

In January 2025, Mangum struck and choked a woman. After learning the woman called law enforcement, Mangum texted and called, asking her not to talk to the police and/or change her statement to the police, the release said.

Mangum’s criminal history includes convictions for possession of controlled substances, driving without privileges, disturbing the peace, petit theft, shoplifting, domestic battery, violation of a no-contact order, grand theft, violation of a protection order, criminal mischief and several probation violations, a press release said.

Mangum was sentenced May 8 by District Judge Barry McHugh.

Grand theft is a felony, punishable by up to 14 years in prison. Domestic battery is a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Intimidation of a witness is a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.
