LIBRARIES: There were not drag queen story hours

This letter is in response to Brent Regan’s Opinion piece, May 9, 2025. There are probably things that Brent Regan and I might agree on, though my world view is probably more inclusive than his, but as I read the part of his piece where he talked about the “Drag Queen Story Hour.” I was surprised. I could not believe that the County Library Network would stage such an event. Upon hearing of it, their board would have burst into flames.

So I called the Coeur d’Alene city library and talked to a few folks and they said, “No, nothing like that had happened there.” As a matter of fact the only case they had heard of may have occurred over in Spokane a few years ago. So my question is, Brent, are you just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks? Really, I’d like to know. I like to make my decisions based on facts, not just made up stuff. I think we all should try to employ critical thinking skills and facts in our lives when we make any decision. Give me the facts man. It’s just common sense.
