ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Rassier

Campaign literature has arrived in mailboxes advocating for specific candidates who were recruited, vetted, and rated by select leadership in the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee (KCRCC). Although many of the candidates align with KCRCC leadership on issues like CRT, DEI, masks, and vaccinations, they don’t have much experience or knowledge when it comes to serious issues like oversight of water and sewer operations, highway districts, or hospitals. In a recent interview with “The Inlander,” Angelo Brunson, a candidate for the Greensferry Water and Sewer district board, shared that he had no idea how these districts work but that he was recruited by a KCRCC member. Brunson admitted the incumbent candidate seeking re-election appears to be far more experienced and qualified, and that the time commitment was of low priority to him.

Sadly, KCRCC’s attempt to control every taxing district board with a partisan of their choosing exceeds the importance of having someone with the ability and proven track record to do the job. When it comes to maintaining and investing in the operations of critical infrastructure such as the community’s clean water supply, the candidate best suited to protect this vital community asset is clearly Carol Rassier.
