The 3rd Avenue Marketplace honored its volunteers who donated more than 50 hours in 2024 at its volunteer appreciation luncheon at Garden Plaza.
Last year, volunteers donated 15,799 hours of service to the marketplace.
Rick Casemore was awarded the Maxine Nelson Award for efforts going above and beyond in serving the marketplace's mission.
For 11 years, Nelson served her community through work at the 3rd Avenue Marketplace. "She worked tirelessly, gave unselfishly, loved unconditionally and had a great compassion for her fellow man," reads the award description.
Casemore started volunteering after reading an article in The Press about the marketplace needing additional support.
