ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Lippert

Victoria Bauman and Michelle Lippert are both registered Republicans, but the CLN Trustee position should be nonpartisan. Focusing on their party affiliations distracts from the real issue: finding the stronger candidate.

Bauman says one of her qualifications is that she is a mother to a small child. Lippert is a mother to two children and a grandmother to four. Does that make her twice as qualified or four times more qualified? 

Bauman moved from California to Idaho four years ago, according to her website. Lippert was born and raised in Spokane Valley and has lived in Post Falls for the past 35 years. Bauman has only partially attended two CLN board meetings (the first was to announce her candidacy). Lippert has been attending board meetings regularly for two years. Who do you think is more attuned to the community’s needs?

Bauman’s professional experience: various public affairs and political campaigns, communications director for a nonprofit, and Pilates instructor. Lippert’s professional experience: high school teacher for 6 years, NIC professor for 26 years, Post Falls school board trustee for 24 years, plus multiple awards and distinctions. 

Bauman declined to be interviewed by the Spokesman-Review. She did not respond to a request from the Coeur d’Alene Press as well. She did not appear for a debate with Lippert due to “illness.”

Bauman is endorsed by the KCRCC and Clean Books 4 Kids. She is, by all appearances, a subservient pawn who will do the bidding of the MAGA far right. Lippert is endorsed by the Library Alliance of North Idaho, retired CLN trustee Judy Meyers, D.A.R.T., and many CLN librarians.
