ENDORSEMENT: Vote yes for Lakeland levy

I urge the community to vote yes on the upcoming levy for Lakeland School District on May 20. Our schools are the heart of our community, providing students with the education, resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Passing this levy is vital to maintaining and enhancing the quality of education our children deserve.

The funds from this levy will help us retain talented teachers, hire new staff, and update classroom supplies and technology. In an age where digital literacy and modern tools are essential, it’s crucial that our schools remain current and well-equipped. This levy also supports expanded extracurricular activities, essential for student development beyond academics. 

Investing in our schools is investing in the future of North Idaho. Our children deserve a safe, nurturing environment that fosters growth, creativity and success. Without this funding, the district faces financial challenges that could impact teacher salaries, program offerings and overall school safety. 

As parents, grandparents and community members, we all want the best for our children. Voting yes on May 20 ensures our schools thrive and prepare tomorrow’s leaders. Let’s support our students, teachers, and community by voting yes on this important levy.
