ENDORSEMENT: Vote yes for Lakeland levy

As a parent and retired educator, I am writing to express my support for the upcoming Lakeland School District levy and to encourage our community to vote yes! A longtime resident of North Idaho, I’m both grateful and proud of Lakeland’s exemplary schools. Currently, my son is advancing and achieving successful outcomes as he engages in Lakeland’s strong academic programs, advanced placement opportunities, and high quality sports programs to name a few.

The upcoming levy is not a new tax but replaces the current tax. In fact, the rate proposed for the levy is lower than what is currently being collected. This levy funds 20% of the Lakeland School District’s operations, supporting programs and services that the state of Idaho does not fund. 

By voting yes, our district can continue to offer outstanding academic and extracurricular opportunities that strengthen our Lakeland community. Our children are the future workers, citizens, and taxpayers who will carry our community and nation forward. We must prioritize their education and secure their access to exceptional teachers, essential programs, and vital services. Strong schools build strong communities! Please vote yes for the Lakeland School District levy on May 20, 2025!
