ISP investigating fatality crash on SH-41 in Blanchard
BLANCHARD — A Blanchard man died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 41 near Clagstone Road on Monday.
According to the Idaho State Police, a 100-year-old female driver from Blanchard was southbound in a 1998 Chrysler Town and Country minivan and was attempting a left-hand turn onto Clagstone Road about 12:30 p.m.
At the same time, a 59-year-old man, also from Blanchard, was northbound at a high rate of speed on a Suzuki motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the minivan, a press release said.
The driver of the minivan was transported by ground ambulance to a hospital. The motorcycle rider, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, the release said.
The highway was blocked for about three hours.
An investigation continues.
