Kathleen Marie Gill, 84

After an extended illness, Kathie Gill passed away peacefully with family Monday, March 10, at the age of 84.

She was a longtime resident of the Coeur d’Alene area, having moved from South Dakota as a teenager and lived here for the remainder of her life. Her early years were spent in Hayden Lake, where she attended school. She married Tom Gill in 1956 and moved to Dalton Gardens, where they raised four children: Jeff, Cindy, Mike and Dave. Family was a very large part of her life, and she was always active in community events and activities. She and Tom had a farm off the rim-rock area of Hayden where they raised cattle. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, going to the local casinos and attending and participating in local auctions, as well as many outdoor activities. She worked for several years for a local carpet shop and local retail store in the area.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Tom. Her oldest son, Jeff, predeceased her. She is also survived by her remaining children and their spouses, Cindy (Mike), Mike and Dave (Kelley). Her parents predeceased her. Her oldest brother, Ronald, predeceased her. She is survived by her youngest brother, Gerald. Additionally, she is survived by six grandchildren, Kendall, Derrick, Bryce, Curtis, Katie and Shawn, six great-grandchildren, two nephews and four nieces.
