Jack Dean Iverson, 85
Jack Iverson, 85, was born Sept. 13, 1939, in Clark, S.D. He passed peacefully Feb. 25, 2025, at Generations Memory Care after a courageous fight with dementia and heart issues.
His family moved from Clark to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he graduated in 1957. While attending Cd'A High School, he was an auctioneer with the family business. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy for three years, excelling in electronics and radar maintenance. After the military, Jack was employed by Boeing, where he met his love, Ethel Erdman. They were married June 23, 1962, for 54 years until her passing in May of 2017. Later, they moved to California to pursue the electronics field with TRW Systems. He had the privilege of working on a project called “Pioneer Jupiter,” which was the forerunner to Voyager 1, which is still in service today traveling beyond our solar system. During this time, his family grew with the birth of his child, Theresa. But California was not an environment he enjoyed so they moved back to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1973 to help run the family business, Iverson’s Furniture, with his parents and brother Charlie for 26 years until his retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman, often camping, hunting, fishing and especially horseback riding. An annual event called “Gentlemen on Horseback” was something he looked forward to every year. In his later years, he became involved with his church and Bible study group, called “BSF.”
Jack is survived by his daughter, Theresa Bowles and son-in-law (Cory), grandson Riley (Bowles), daughter-in-law Samantha, great grandchildren Jackson and Blake, his brother, Charlie (Iverson) and sister-in-law Bonnie (Iverson) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, father and mother (Clifford and Thelma), sister (Jan Hannick), and brothers Bradley, Martin and Marlan (Iverson).
Services will be held at Hayden Bible Church located at 290 E. Miles Ave., Hayden Lake, Idaho on April 4 at 1 p.m.
