Scott TenEyck, 64
Scott Edward TenEyck, 64, passed away peacefully in his home in Post Falls on Feb. 25, 2025, following a series of serious health issues.
Scott was born Sept. 11, 1960, at Wallace Providence Hospital and grew up in the Silver Valley. Scott graduated from Wallace High School in 1980, then attended North Idaho College where he studied criminal justice. After school, Scott worked in the silver mines before starting what would be over a 30-year career in law enforcement. Throughout his career, Scott worked for the Wallace Police Department, working his way to Chief of Police. Scott would be the last Chief of Police in Wallace. After he left Wallace, the police department dissolved, and law enforcement duties were taken over by the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office. In 2001, Scott went to work for the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, where he served as a patrol officer, school resource officer, detective, honor guard member and patrol sergeant, a rank he held until he retired after several years of service to the community. As demonstrated by his life of public service, Scott demonstrated he truly had a servant’s heart. After retiring from law enforcement, Scott went to work at Buck Knives, where he worked for several years. Throughout his life, Scott touched many lives and built many lifelong friendships.
When Scott was not working, he enjoyed socializing with his friends and family, fishing and golfing, as much as it may have frustrated him. Scott will always be remembered for his kindness and his willingness to always lend a hand to anyone that needed it.
In 1997, Scott married Elizabeth (Eismann) TenEyck and they were married until his passing. They remained in the Silver Valley for several years before they made their home in Post Falls. Scott and Elizabeth experienced many wonderful times and created many fond memories that she will cherish. Elizabeth describes Scott as quite simply, the kindest person she had ever known.
Scott had two children. His son, Brandon TenEyck (Tania) and his daughter, Ashley Dickson. Scott was a kind hearted, dependable and devoted father. When his children were young, you could find them with their dad fishing, camping or engaged in sports which he coached.
Scott is survived by his wife, Elizabeth TenEyck, his children, Brandon and Ashley, two brothers, Kevin TenEyck and Todd TenEyck, sister Teresa Almquist, his mother, Kathy Clark and numerous nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Marshall TenEyck and his stepfather, George Clark.
At Scott’s request, there will not be a service. Family and friends have appreciated all of you that have reached out and expressed what Scott meant to you.
