FIREWORKS: Be respectful of animals, veterans
It is that time of year again. The Fourth of July is a wonderful celebration which we as Americans should cherish every year! It is the celebration of our country! However, Fourth of July brings loud fireworks. When lighting off fireworks please keep in mind and be respectful of our fury friends, and our veteran community who were exposed to combat and can be triggered by unexpected loud explosions.
Fireworks can be wonderful and I applaud the Coeur d’Alene Chamber, The Coeur d’Alene Resort, and other sponsors who light up fireworks on the evening of the Fourth. These fireworks are different because it is well-known what time they will be lit off, so there is time to mentally prepare.
I am referring to those very loud explosive fireworks, which can be purchased at the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Reservation and in Worley. These fireworks can be very loud and can trigger a veteran with PTSD symptoms. Please be respectful and know your surroundings and neighbors.
I applaud the Coeur d’Alene Chamber and The Coeur d’Alene Resort for a terrific lit up fireworks show! Happy Fourth of July! Thank you Linda Coppess!
