NO KINGS: Voting does matter

| June 20, 2025 1:00 AM

Had quite an unusual experience — I attended the “No Kings” Coeur d’Alene rally Saturday. The “No Kings” participants stretched about four or five blocks with about three or four more rows scattered about, so hard to tell how many. At least, from where I was standing, no one cussed, flipped anyone off or acted inappropriately.

On the other side of the street was a small group of Trump supporters. I really couldn’t hear what they were saying. But those that walked over to our side were very vocal — they sounded like sixth-grade bullies, yelling obscenities and murdering the English language. But even they were outdone by the ones in the trucks and a few cars that circled the block for three hours, displaying the American Flag in a very inappropriate manner. Amazingly, all these kids only had one finger on their raised hand, the middle one! We all received quite a salute with those fingers — yet the owners looked like adults. Many had their children with them, teaching them nasty and obscene behaviors (just as their parents taught them).

The United States used to be the envy of the world — now the world (excluding countries ruled by dictators wanting to take over the United States of America) has nothing but contempt and disrespect for our once amazing nation!

What I really don’t understand is that over 30% of our voters failed to vote and that doesn’t even include those not registered to vote. WHY? They say their vote doesn’t count. That is a very obvious false statement to the detriment of a once proud and thriving nation!
