TRUMP: Respect and responsibility

The purpose of government, according to the Bible, is to keep evil in check and maintain some semblance of justice and care for the oppressed. Every governmental leader has been appointed, arranged or established by God, including Donald J. Trump.

Does President Trump repeatedly show disrespect for our military forces, as Jim Jones insists? A quick review of the facts answers this without any doubt. Trump met with and visited the families of 13 U.S. military members who were killed in the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. He spent six hours with them, and then they had supper together. It was Trump who ordered: 1. military members will no longer be forced to share sleeping, changing, or bathing facilities with members of the opposite sex. 2. People with gender dysphoria will no longer serve in the military, respecting the medical judgment, conscience rights, and religious liberty of military doctors, chaplains, commanding officers, and fellow service members. 3. The same standard of physical and mental fitness shall apply to everyone, respecting those who have worked hard to achieve that standard. 4. The end of invented and identification-based pronoun usage, maintaining the traditional ways of addressing personnel to show respect and courtesy. 5. The re-reinstatement of thousands of service members who were dismissed for refusing the COVID vaccine, with full back pay and benefits. These are undoubtedly some of the reasons why the Army has hit its best recruitment numbers in 15 years, under the leadership of President Trump and Pete Hegseth.  

The phrase “kick against the goads” refers to resisting or fighting against something that ultimately causes more pain or trouble for oneself. It originates from a biblical context where Jesus tells Saul that resisting His guidance is futile and harmful. So, sit back and enjoy the big parade, Mr. Jones. It is designed to honor our military, which seems to be important to you. And if it happens to fall on the birthday of our Commander in Chief, why not wish him a happy birthday and be grateful that he is keeping evil in check?
