Plummer teen dies in crash

A teenager died in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 95 south of Plummer on Friday morning.

The Idaho State Police said a 2013 Ford Fusion was southbound near milepost 394 in Benewah County when the 17-year-old driver from Plummer lost control, left the roadway and struck a tree about 10:30. The driver died at the scene, ISP said in a press release.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of crash, ISP said. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

An investigation continues.
