LEGION BASEBALL: Prairie 'A' wins opener at Whitworth tourney

SPOKANE — Gavin Wienker tied the game in the fourth inning with an RBI single, and Bryce Berger’s RBI double gave Prairie the lead for good as the Cardinals ‘A’ team beat the Sluggers 16U on Friday in their first game of the Whitworth Showcase. 

Alec Finn hit an RBI single in the third inning for Prairie (7-2), and James Morast struck out six in five innings.

Prairie plays the Stods Rough Riders 16U today at 2:30 p.m. and the Northwest Bison 17U at 5.
