Lundy Boulevard waterline extension bid awarded to Big Sky

| June 5, 2025 1:00 AM

The city staff recommendation to award the Lundy Boulevard waterline extension project to Big Sky Idaho Corporation in the amount of $125,919 passed unanimously at the Post Falls City Council meeting Tuesday.

The new waterline will extend from its current location near the Centennial Trail south to Lundy Boulevard, utilizing easements and property acquired by Post Falls last year, a press release said.

The extension will improve system reliability by adding a new fire hydrant and creating a future connection point near the outfall property.

Road closures at the end of Lundy Boulevard will be limited to one lane at a time to ensure access to residents beyond that point. The project is not expected to impact trail users and minimal impacts are expected for neighbors of the project.

Construction is expected to begin later this season and will last approximately three weeks. The total approved project budget is $145,919, which includes a $20,000 contingency for unforeseen conditions or beneficial system improvements.

Project funding comes from the wastewater outfall upgrade budget.

This project fulfills a 2022 agreement in which the city committed to providing municipal water service to two residences located at the end of Lundy Boulevard, the release said.
